Richard Dührkohp – Best barkeeper of Germany!
15 professional barkeepers from all over Germany were fighting with finesse, creativity and enthusiasm for the first place at the national finale of the De Kuyper Cup. Finally, the jury decided that Richard Dührkohp is the best barkeeper of Germany!
“Richi” succeeded against 14 Top-Bar pros from Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg, Mainz and Munich. His opponents were the top three of each of the five preliminary decisions which took place since the year before. Behind Antonia Petzold from the sky.bar, Andel’s Hotel (Berlin) on the second place, Andrej Busch satisfied the jury and got ranked on the third place.
The jury was searching for the most creative, original and the most delicious of all classic cocktails. Its mixture had to stem back to the best bar spirits: All of the cocktails that were presented during the contest were created on a base of one of the 31 different liquors of De Kuyper, the world’s largest producer of liquors from Schiedam/Rotterdam.
Richard Dührkohp convinced the jury with his perfectly balanced drink “Frozen White Berry”, existing of De Kuyper Blueberry, Sierra Milenario Blanco, cane sugar syrup and lemon juice, so that he could accept the De Kuyper trophy 2010. As a winner he gets to travel to the London Cocktail week for three days in October. He and the second and third placed received also a barkeeper suitcase, with professional equipment of high quality.
A special highlight for all participants was the breath taking workshop of special guest Nicolas Saint-Jean, who could even show the pros many tips for an individual Mix-Show, since he is a world champion four times over in Flairtending.
