East wins Foodservice Price of Hamburg 2007

This price is given for pioneer performance, Innovation and business success in an economy, which is characterized through strong changes in structure. The “Deutscher Fachverlag” rewards a company within the industry once a year. The most important criteria are services, which set new standards and which help to put a tread nationally and internationally on the branch.
The east Hamburg turns all classical structures of the hospitality business upside down. With a mix of design-restaurant, nightlife-temple and luxury hotel – in exactly that order – the hotel combines modern ambience with an Asian inspired kitchen and a happy awareness of life.
The general managers of the east hotel Marc Ciunis and Christoph Strenger with direction manager Anne Marie Bauer and Strengers partners Roland Koch and Michael Maier are pleased about the great award, which is given to them in a festive gala in a ballroom of the Elysée at March 9th 2007.
Aside the many awards, which the east received in the last two and a half years since the opening in October 2004 for design and concept, this price is one of the most important ones for Christoph Strenger, from a gastronomic point of view. “Many great personalities like Sir Terence Conran, Gerd Käfer or Eugen Block did hold this award already in their hands. This makes us proud and motivates us to work on projects with the same enthusiasm and as much fine feeling!”
