From 5.00am to 10.00am on Sundays (1oct –31mar from 7.00am) just about everything is traded on Hamburg´s oldest market, licensed since 1703. From secound-hand crockery to live poultry, the choice is yours within a stone´s throw of the 100-year-old Fish Auction Hall. Freshly caught fish, sold from cutters at the quayside, is incidental nowadays. At closing time prices drop and things really get hopping.
