With extraordinary rooms, which convince both in the totality and in the details and a diverse food and beverage menu, the east Restaurant grew since the opening of the east Hotel & Restaurant in 2004 to one of the hottest nightlife addresses in Hamburg and is still the destination of people from all over the world. 
 
The east Restaurant with over 200 seats, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a cozy vaulted ceiling is located in the time-honored building of a former iron foundry. Unplastered red brick, stained church glass and modern interior design by Chicago designer Jordan Mozer, give the large hall with its curved columns a special atmosphere.


Light installations and contemporary art of changing exhibitions give the ambience the final touch. Our guests take a seat in the great hall, in the secluded casemates or at the sushi counter, the impressive skills of the sushi masters in view.

Time for bold flavors and comforting delights...

Our winter menu combines exquisite ingredients with seasonal finesse. All dishes can also be ordered individually:

 

  • Sweet-Potato-Chili Soup with a delicate hint of cinnamon and a crispy baked wonton. A warming starter that balances gentle heat with a touch of sweetness.

 

  • Wild Sea Bream Sashimi served on lime-infused red cabbage, refined with mild olive oil, fresh mandarin, and fragrant honey cress. A vibrant interplay of freshness, citrus, and lightness.

 

  • Duck à l’Orange slowly roasted and finished with an aromatic duck jus, paired with the subtle sweetness of ripe oranges. Served with lamb’s lettuce in orange vinaigrette, caramelized nuts, and cranberries - accompanied by either apple red cabbage or potato dumplings.

 

  • Kaiserschmarrn golden and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside - served with a fruity plum compote and a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream.

At the sushi counter, you sit in the front row and watch the nimble sushi masters prepare your rolls. With fresh ingredients and practiced handles, a complete sushi boat is loaded in a few minutes. See for yourself.

Meat from the Robata Grill

On the Robata grill, a traditional Japanese charcoal grill originally from Hokkaido, seafood, vegetables and meat are grilled at high temperatures to preserve their natural flavor and juices.

Dress code

Please respect our dress code "casual elegant" and refrain from wearing sweatpants and jogging suits, sportswear, flipflops and overly casual clothing at breakfast and when visiting the restaurant and bar in the evening.
